Light Pen Hub

A minimalist, distraction-free publishing site built around disciplined typography and lightweight front-end execution for an independent author.

01 // THE OBJECTIVE

The Problem & Architecture Mandate

An author needed a simple, distraction-free space to showcase their writing — built primarily as a hands-on opportunity to practice clean front-end execution on a real (if low-traffic) client project.

02 // ARCHITECTURAL APPROACH & EVOLUTION

Engineering Iterations & Milestones

Phase 01Production Milestone

Typographic Discipline

Tuned font sizing, line height, and margins specifically for long-form reading comfort.

Phase 02Production Milestone

Minimal Footprint

Left out analytics, ads, and heavy client-side libraries in favor of static HTML and lean CSS.

Phase 03Production Milestone

Responsive Layout

Kept line lengths and spacing consistent from mobile through widescreen.

03 // ARCHITECTURAL CONCLUSION

System Longevity & Durability

Light Pen Hub is a small, clean execution exercise: a publishing site built around readability first, with nothing extraneous competing for the reader's attention.

04 // THE RESULTS

The site launched successfully and remains live, though the author hasn't promoted or used it heavily since. The real value of this one was practical — it's a demonstration piece of disciplined typography and lightweight front-end build quality, done for a real client rather than a personal sandbox.
